Introduction:

 

Hi

I'm Louise Tervit . I'm a Physiotherapist at Hope School and the teacher facilitator for GTP.

First I want to apologize for our very late submission, but we have been having some frustrating connectivity issues. Hopefully we will be on track now. I'm very excited to be facilitating this challenge based , Children's Rights learning circle. let me introduce this tiny group to you. We have a tradition at Hope School of the Learners naming their groups. the boys decided on naming their group the Young Legends Group. I'll let them tell you what they are all about.

 

Hello this is Tk, Smanga and Mpho, we are from Hope school. We are from and live in South Africa in Gauteng. Johannesburg is our capital city of the Gauteng Province. We all happy children and we all do sport.

 

Tk plays wheelchair basketball and he is talented. He also does art and is a very good artist. He can also swim and is good on Maths.

 

Smanga is good at what he does which is dancing. He is also a hard worker in his school work. he is also good in Maths.

 

Mpho is very intelligent. He is a hard worker. He is good in Geography. He is also a good swimmer and table tennis player.

 

Our school has many sports. It has a calm environment and we are so glad to be sheltered by the hostel and we are also glad to have a nice view due to the fact that we are at the top of a mountain. Our school is beautiful and because of that we say we are lucky to have this place as our school as it is made for special people.

 

And we are the GTP kids

 

We wrote a rap song after our group discussions about the abuse of children's rights. We're posting the words as we are struggling to post the video.

Contributions Challenge 1:

 

THE Shock.

 

In South Africa many poor people live in informal settlements in dwellings called Shacks. They do not have water or electricity in their homes. Many people make illegal connections. This is very dangerous. It can cause a fire that can burn down hundreds of homes. It is also very dangerous for the person making the connection to the high voltage electrical wires. Many children are forced to do this, even by their parents. If you touch the live electric cables, the electricity burns your arms off completely.

Contributions Challenge 2:

 

Assignment 1

 

 The name of our school is the School of the Wise. We design a school and this school will make us feel like we are leaning at home. Our school would make children eager to learn and help learners achieve their goals.Our school is a school that disable and able learners can go to.

The school that we designed is highly technologically advanced. As you can see on the entrance of the school they stairs that make it difficult for the disabled to go on but there is a button by all stairs that when pressed a ramp that slides out. Our school and the buildings have all the latest technology so that anybody is able to learn and achieve their dreams whether they are blind,deaf, in wheelchairs or have no physical problem

 

 

 

This is the front building of our school we wanted it to look like a doublestory house because we would think that when the learners look at the front building they would think of it as  home.

 

This is a class it's a CAT class not only a cat but anybody can came andown do research, assignmentso or came playou games it's a class were anybody is allowed. 

 

 

 

 

 

This class is the science class.

 

This school that we designed has inspired us to learn and and achieve  our goals so that when we grow up we could build better schools for other children so that they can live better life at school thand we did.
